“Form in motion – The Yamaha TDR 125 as an abstract icon”
This cubist-expressionist depiction captures the striking silhouette of the Yamaha TDR 125—one of the most striking motorcycles of the 1990s. Its distinctive features are the asymmetrically offset twin headlights , which are brought into focus by luminous geometric shapes.
The high-swept fairing , the agile supermoto chassis , and the single-sided exhaust (originally positioned above the rear wheel) are reinterpreted in powerfully shifted surfaces. Warm orange tones contrast with deep blue and olive green accents – a color play that visually intensifies the tension between technology and movement.
Originally conceived as a sporty light motorcycle with off-road DNA , the TDR 125 was considered a crossover between road and off-road. In this imagery, it becomes a visual metaphor for new beginnings, nonconformity, and uncompromising style .
