Collection: Dibbets, Jan

Jan Dibbets *1941 in Weert (NL); 1967 studied at St. Martin's School of Art in London; since 1984 professor at the Düsseldorf Art Academy; lives and works in Amsterdam (NL) and San Casciano Bagni (I). Jan Dibbets is one of the leading representatives of European Conceptual Art. The focus of his artistic strategy is the problem of perception, sensory deception, and illusion, using photography as his object of investigation. Dibbets is particularly concerned with the question of perspective and its correction. Thus, in the context of Land Art in the late 1960s, the artist realized several temporary interventions that poetically visualized the problem of perception.
